That's surprising indeed. May all of these changes not have been accepted by upstream Wine? If so, why? May there be dirty workarounds that Wine devs didn't like, or maybe those patches are just still under consideration?

Good, now do Gallium_Nine with Wine and then Fedora version upgrade like normal updates via GUI and one button.

well, let's shed some light into this:
            1. Fedora does not add custom patches on top of wine (http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/w...ine.spec?h=f21)
            2. However Fedora enables all(?) patches from wine-compholio.

            Quoting the compholio github description:
"The idea behind Wine Staging is to provide new features faster to end users and to give developers the possibility to discuss and improve their patches before they are sent upstream."

This means for example it should be possible to use pipelight with the stock Fedora RPMs.

As a side note: Fedora's mesa will also enable gallium-nine support in F21 once 10.4 hits stable (via the mesa-d3d subpackage, see spec file, koji build).

Btw: mesa 10.4.0 (and LLVM 3.5) was just submitted for updates-testing

Why? Because wine devs don't have their priorities right, while Fedora devs do. The point of wine is gaming. Everything else has alternatives. Still, wine developers struggle to be feature complete with windows 999 instead of making sure games run as well as possible. Surely wine internet explorer and d2d are more important...

Just how do you go about to enable it?
