    Thanks Michael

I want just to say "THANK YOU MICHAEL!" for comparting Debian vs Ubuntu/anything.

For being ontopic, I think that I must say:

    Debian > All
    KDE > Gnome
    nano > vi/emacs
    GPL > BSD
    Wayland > Mir
    boxers > slips
    XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

PS: Enjoy your GNU/Linux, whichever is which you use.

I'm running Linux 3.16.0-031600rc2-generic from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa...16-rc2-utopic/ and I can tell it feels slow, and some things that used to work just fine (browsers, for example) have some sort of delay, although I don't know if it's a graphic thing, or the kernel itself...

I did, better than GNOME Edit.

... the OP compared it to vim/emacs, not GNOME edit.

Why is the CPU frequency for all testings are different? And the CPU frequency for Debian is only 1.22GHz, this will definitely have a very significant effect on the result.
