Phoronix: Ubuntu 7.10 May Include New ATI Driver

While Ubuntu 7.10 "Gutsy Gibbon" is already in a feature freeze, it looks like Mark Shuttleworth may allow the new ATI 8.41 driver to enter Gutsy Gibbon. Canonical is apparently interested in what ATI is doing on the Linux front and if the fglrx 8.41 meets their criteria, it may be included in Ubuntu 7.10.

AMD said Mark was considering it, but now Mark says no. His comments on the new driver though will be published within the next couple of hours, at Phoronix of course.
