Ubuntu - Where are we now?

The Ubuntu-Codenaming-Principles are kind of hilarious, but weird at the same time. I switched to other distributions years ago, so I should not really judge about it, but many users had good reasons to do so when it comes to recent developments in areas like "Unity" or the Ubuntu Software Center.
