For what it is worth, I have already been enjoying XFCE 4.20 in Debian (testing repo) for a little while. Works great, and even if I don't use Thunar much (I prefer DoubleCommander as a filemanager) there are lots of nice changes that makes it a lot more interesting and useful to use, and I have been using it more than I expected to. Thumbs up for great improvements!

XFCE is the poster child for the words: Dependable and Reliable with no fuss, and no drama. Kudos to the XFCE team for another great release.

At this point, all other DEs are reliable, and I have not seen any DE causing fuss or drama recently. You just seem to prefer XFCE. And I don't see anything special or original about it. Poster child of dull?

Then don't use it, if you prefer your DE to be exciting and entertaining via a barrage of constant GUI changes, tons of new nonsensical options on every new release, or the senseless removal of basic functionality, don't install XFCE.

I prefer stability and refinement in basic infrastructure software upon which my computer experience relies, but that is just boring old me, your mileage may vary.

That is your personal preference that you choose XFCE and that is completely subjective decision. I am, of course, not using it since I prefer something else. Simple eh?

              And, back at you
