What I really like about the Fedora project is that it provides a set of guidelines for all distributions to follow, this means there is a certain baseline experience that is just really solid between all the different spins. Having a COSMIC spin with a Fedora base seems like a really interesting proposal, I'd love to see it and try it out.

I am a Fedora user and I'd gladly use a COSMIC fedora spin!

Because GNOME was a complete failure (a mix & match between mobile Android and MacOS), I currently use the Fedora Cinnamon spin. A COSMIC desktop will definitely make me switch.

That doesn't mean that Cinnamon is bad, but in all honesty, its stale. No major features over the past 5 years.

ohhh I really hope we get qt theming integration, no idea how to do that tho, qt theming is, as nicely as I can possibly say this, a bloody mess.

More choice is always a good thing. I'm happy with KDE though.

This is true of basically every distro that has official "spins". Ubuntu, etc.

And don't forget they're literally making it *worse* in future updates instead of better!

at this point some Qt apps don't even show their icons or menus when launched under Cosmic, so maybe that should have been fixed first and then the proper integration should be worked on.

I think this proposal might be a bit early. I've tried out each alpha as they came and COSMIC isn't anywhere near ready. They're definitely still alphas, anyway. I get quite a bit of flickering that I haven't been able to fix, and input is hit-or-miss. But I'm still optimistic.

I had this problem when testing under Gnome-wayland, and it turned out there was a stray gtk style plugin file for Qt from a removed package that was doing this. Removing that fixed it.

                    Might have been qgnomeplatform
