Is this really worth reporting? manjaro is a rolling release distro, there's a new version almost weekly.

Gnome updates? Yeah... obviously... cuz it's a rolling release distro...

I vote for reporting every Tumbleweed ISO update . And pedantic, but 6.12 is going to be the next LTS, but it isn't LTS yet.

The statements made by the other two posters can just as easily be made, and apply to, any other distro.

Indeed they can, it's only really worth reporting on when there's a significant change, like idk some distro removing systemd or some distro now defaulting to arcan instead of X or wayland; or even some distro now always coming with candy crush preinstalled or something.

Kernel and de updated... like I don't think gnome is even the default desktop environment for manjaro! the official default was xfce not that long ago, now it seems to be more kde, with gnome only being a third option (I suppose it's an official option at least).

Idk, I just somehow thought about it when i saw the article, that it's kinda meaningless, of course manjaro is updated, it updates every day, i'd be more surprised if it didn't update than when it inevitably does! And only a few days behind arch usually!

They still freeze packages for ISO installation every now and then.
So, despite being rolling, there are still release points worth reporting.

You are correct and realistically one could argue that many articles that appear on this site are nothing more than blurbs that report on trivial matters.

The reality is though that this site is, despite what anyone thinks, a business and Michael has demonstrated that he keeps a close eye on how much money this site generates.

If you read his Lunar Lake review he stated that he bought the laptop for about $1400 and that he expected to be able to recover the cost after 3 or for 4 articles, meaning he knows that 3 or 4 articles of a popular review, with a decent number of comments, will generate about $1400 in ad revenue, even taking into account all the ad blockers.

So he constantly writes articles, and once in a while he hits pay dirt with an articles that generates lots of comments and lots of readers.

Not a bad way to make a buck, if you can swing it.
