          Mutter is 46.2 and there was gnome-shell update some days ago, but it's still 46.0

            The SRU process got complicated for 46 because Ubuntu 24.04 is stuck without explicit sync support due to old binary drivers and Wayland 1.22. Full version updates require a lot of testing and disabling of certain features. So devs tend to just cherry pick the most important fixes and leave the version unchanged.

            Of course the friendly upstream still back port to 46 on request from Canonical.

              they are probably kidding calling this a stable release: upgrade from 22.04 interrupted due to "cant fetch pkg". leaving my system in a broken state because installer already removed many many packages. what a bad day. why would they remove a pkg and than install renamed version of package...

                how old is ubuntus glibc these days? Is it still ancient?
