    May distributions package Kodi on their own. Kodi is not even developed primarily with the focus on being a bare-os, this is something the Elec project does. Kodi is primarily developed for Ubuntu I believe. I think Arch (-> Steamdeck) probably has packages, too. (I use Gentoo btw. :P)

    I recently thought about jumping on the Jellyfin Hype-Train. But maybe I stick with Kodi for a while and let Jellyfin grow a bit more.

    I am not a big fan of running a whole other OS to watch my movies in hdr, I wish someone would port that kodi version to normal linux, and make sure it works under gamescope and not just gbm.
