At CompanyCORP we install our OS with D-Installer.

Deinstaller? You sure? That sounds like it removes the OS.

      I'm positive. D-Installer installs.

      Deinstaller installs?

      Yep. D-Installer installs.

I still feel like you're trying to pull one over on me. What's the joke I'm not getting here?

Seriously. No joke. Here's the link.

Really? D HYPHEN Installer!?!?! What a clear and concise name
Yes, I like the idea but the naming is horrible.
I'm sure internally they had better names. I like the name Trioceros installer (Trioceros is a really cool chameleon genus) but i'm horrible at naming and i'm sure they have people who are good at naming.

I can't wait for these web based installers to add RSS feeds, email clients, and buttons for all of those social things that waste lots of your time.

And then there is the concern regarding "calling home" with personal data about YOU and bad actors injecting malware and other bad stuff into this stuff.

            Geez! What could go wrong?

you have a server without video output, instead of doing whole install via ssh/serial/whatever and using text-based terminal, you point any web browser within local network to server's IP, problem solved. i doubt they're there yet, but considering they're using cockpit, that seems to be the goal.

so what the hell are you even ranting about? what buttons, what malware, what calling home? local network doesn't even have to be connected to the internet.

With a bit of polish this could wind up as the tech version of Who's on First.
