    Xilinx already has an established Yocto based Linux platform for their SoCs, petalinux: https://www.xilinx.com/products/desi...linux-sdk.html. Likely they are just continuing and or expanding that effort.

        i am sure there is a big market for such products means GPUs without closed source firmware.

            meanwhile Intel is ramping up their mainstream video comedyads leveraging on the "vPro" functionality/branding.. wasn't that a big no-no security wise?
            Have you seen those ads?
