And yeah, stock Ubuntu with Wayland has completely broken VNC as I have said before.
    ..
VNC was broken since ~20 year.
With wayland we can now finally move to something modern like RDP or SPICE and perhaps even have remote login. We finally have the tech to catch up with WinXP.

No it wasn't, I am using VNC on X11 on many server setups NOW and haven't had any issues.

sure. try getting a 720p or better stream over the internet without resorting to proprietary and incompatible VNC implementations.
.. and this is before I bring up encryption or remote user login.

        • As I predicted Ubuntu setting Wayland as default is already causing vision research problems: https://github.com/Psychtoolbox-3/Ps...box-3/pull/765

Hopefully those users use an updated version of PTB when they upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04 if not they'll end up with terrible timing on AMD/Intel.

              (2) The energy mix of most countries is getting cleaner year over year
              (3) EV would still be cleaner or at leas competitive (assuming it only runs on electricity produced by coal) because peak efficiency of an electric motor is ~95% and that of an engine is 20-35%, so EV are 3-4 times more efficient
              (4) The efficiency curve of electric motors is flat; engines only have a narrow peak. Therefore, ICE car often achieve <10% efficiency in city diving while an EV can achieve 80-90%.
              (5) Even ignoring everything else, cars are where people are, power plants are not.

In short, whoever came up with the above post is a moron and is paid directly or indirectly by a coal or oil company for his/her selective view (that needs to distort reality on multiple levels to be true).

                +1
                I liked this one

"The claim that the lifecycle of an electric car produces more greenhouse gases than an internal combustion car is entirely the result of 50% carefully cherrypicked spin doctoring combined with 50% outright falsehoods. Here's the only way that argument can be made to work. If you buy an electric car with the biggest battery that requires the most manufacturing resources, if you drive your electric car in the least efficient way, if you drive your electric car in the worst climatic conditions for battery life, if you charge it only with electricity generated entirely by oil or coal, if you do not properly recycle the battery at the end of its life, and if you choose for your comparison the biggest-battery electric car against the smallest, lightest, compact internal combustion car: only then will it be true that the lifespan of your electric car generates more greenhouse gases than an internal combu— Oh wait, no; crunching the numbers again, the answer is still no."
