    The Linux kernel was already used in Windows XP when running Linux from VirtualPC.

    WSL1 this was more true. WSL2 is really just Hyper-V with clever integration.

    why? Redhat actually has a far more closser relationship with Microsoft than Canonical does. why else would Microsoft be using Redhat tools

    Interesting that it's based on Fedora or at least uses Fedora tools. I would have expected Ubuntu as Canonical has a much closer relationship with MS.
