I really hope they make the switch to Wayland (minus on proprietary nv of course) - that would put a lot more weight behind it while leaving enough time for software makers to finally adopt before 22.04. I'm thinking mainly of proprietary software not making use of portals/pipewire for desktop sharing and other X11 specific hacks that are hard to support in Xwayland.

Updates in Ubuntu would be boring if it wasn't for GNOME updates.

for the second time, the first was disaster, since the wayland implementation was bad

Typo: Hardy Heron was 8.04, not 18.04.

                    cd 21.04
                    git clone $CURRENT_FEDORA_RELEASE-6
                    git add proprietary-shit
                    make

Don't worry, Canonical doesn't have to pay me for doing all the Ubuntu dev work for them.
