Yes, Virtualbox being broken with 5.8 is a known issue: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1175201.

Looks like they're working on it.

It looks like it. When Arch gets the next <software here>, they don't care. However, when openSUSE gets it, they make an article about it.

Probably because (open)SUSE is also used in corporate environments, whereas Arch isn't.

"Practically zero issues" means there are some issues, what are they?

Nothing beats openSUSE Tumbleweed as a rolling-release distribution because of openQA with each snapshot being automatically tested everytime:

openQA is a testing framework mainly for distributions

Add on top of that Btrfs snapshots and you're done if something goes wrong.

I have been using LXD containers and everything is still working for me, but ofc it is not VMs.

Virtualbox (Kubuntu is at 6.1) did not work with 5.8 last time I tried it. There is a package on their site (I think it's their testing packages) that does work however.

For me, the premiere rolling distro is Manjaro, everything, including TW, just blows.

I was trying openSUSE a month ago and hit an issue due to this slow updating of GCC which made me switch off it, related to CUDA. Presumably that would be fixed now. Oh well. OpenSUSE Tumbleweed seemed nice tho.

Arch has 5.7 for regular repository and 5.8 in testing.
