Sure, why not replace the 5.0 kernel with the EOL'd 5.3 kernel. Great idea!

It is the 5.0 kernel which is EOL, the current 5.3 kernel in Linux Mint (5.3.0-59) is supported until August 2020
Besides that, you can get a 5.4.0-37 kernel, which is supported until February 2021
