    well, it's designed to add httpd user for apache package and the like. so it's target usage is closer to 10 users than to thousand

      True but most of the points still stand, they are standardizing the way their packages create users by mimicking systemd's declarative configuration file, that's the main benefit.

        but i was replying to performance concern, which isn't defined by syntax
