    that looks like it's going to be a big jump in the code versions again
    alone glibc in conjunction with gcc9 should reach some speed

        Desktop performance will most likely increase again. The Ubuntu desktop team is as strong as ever.

            I have to imagine that, at the minimum, the Ubuntu users posting in this thread use Gnome and take it seriously.

              More than anything else I'd love to see them enable the Wayland Gnome session by default. Whatever it takes to make it happen.

              I'd also love to see Canonical sponsor or create a universal GPU config program that can handle both Open Source and proprietary drivers from Intel, AMD & NVIDIA.

                It's getting old having to wait for gnome to fix their crap each update. I feel like this is stuff that should have been done years ago.
