Bad defaults are bad. Good defaults become ubiquitous and you can go from one computer to the next and operate fluidly.. bad defaults make moving from on computer to the next a chore. When there are cases of user configurability there should also be a text oriented way of doing the same thing in a standard way.

If only they stored with your cloud user profile which tiles you have hidden and synced that to all new machines...
