              My experience with Fedora spins: anything that is not Gnome lacks polish and is an afterthought.

                  Same can be said for Xubuntu which is/was an unmitigated disaster on 18.04. Anyhoo I always start with the server releases for both Fedora and Ubuntu, and add minimal xfce4 + select plugins from package manager. I can wait for FC29 to get their xfce act together, #28 is working great for me.

                    Note that you can actually _also_ do this with the Fedora installer via kickstart — or install minimal and build from there. Or install Workstation and then add your preferred desktop later.
