"Mark refers to it as "used by world class app developers. Skype, Spotify and a ton of GREAT apps", should have said crap-class applications, obviously some of the worst apps out there... why do these clowns want to always make things worse, doesn't anybody really explain to them how dumb these decisions are?

This is Canonical/Ubuntu main philosophy: being dumber than anyone can imagine.

So the examples that Mark makes of "great applications" are both proprietary. Can he name even two great libre applications that use electron?

I really don't understand Canonical's drive to do things so differently. Ubuntu's popularity was due to it being compatible, competent, and easy. When they keep changing things up like this, you break all of that. Linux has enough variety as-is, and package management is the LAST thing we need yet-another-standard for.

Let me tell you Mark what was a GREAT application,... Unity 7 was. And you killed it. Ubuntu is becoming just another average distro day by day.

Unity 8 looks nicer, and, bonus, it's still alive
