    KDE 2 was awful, and KDE 3 was an absolute dream, one of the best DE's ever. But I'm not giving up my fabulous and gorgeous Plasma 5 desktop for any reason.

      Ah, nostalgia. Though a few times nostalgia can put some nice rose-coloured glasses before your eyes. And when you touch things for real it's not as awesome as you remembered it to be. Or you just see the shortcomings.
      Stop TCPA, stupid software patents and corrupt politicians!

        There's no need to wait until next year. It's still around and supported today. It was forked and is called Trinity Desktop. There are packages for Debian, Fedora, and Ubuntu.

            KDE2, oh yeah, this was my first GNU/Linux desktop and I loved it from the start. Over the years I had just minor sidesteps from KDE to Enlightenment (though never again after KDE4), but it's my desktop of choice still.
