Chrome is actively being ported to Wayland, you can follow the development/try it here:

Old repo. See https://crbug.com/578890 instead. Contribute to Igalia/chromium development by creating an account on GitHub.

Chrome runs fine on KDE running on Wayland. FWIW.

Yes it can. I'm running KDE with Wayland, and Chrome works great in it:

Ironically, what does need to be fixed is KDE's notification system in Wayland, which currently creates these opaque popups in the middle of the screen. I'd prefer Chrome's notification system over this.

KDE's Wayland support has come a long way. It's finally very usable, though still has some work to do.

Seriously, though, was it ironic? I thought as much, but it can be hard to tell.

Can't tell if serious or not. Are you serious? And if you are, can you explain why you want tight browser integration?

                    Just asking.

Notification, file open, send to phone, etc. I genuinely like when browsers blend into the OS instead of pretending to be their own special snowflake, practically an OS in your OS. Y'know, act like a proper app.
as a web dev, I liked when Unity let you define launcher items, and how mobile chrome let's you define a browser chrome color (meta theme-color).
