    That's too slow. Especially now that Ubuntu will also switch to wayland.

      Past experience shows that software projects tend to take 2-3 times longer than generally anticipated.
      If you said back in 2008 that even by 2018 some of the most used apps (like FF, Chrome and LibreOffice) won't run natively by default on Wayland they'd call you delusional or a hard core pessimist.
