Try 5.9 Beta. If it isnt fixed in there, it isnt fixed in 5.8.1.

I wasn't trying to be rude. It just seems pointless to me to tell people on a somewhat random forum you're waiting for product X to fix bug Y. On "product X"'s forum maybe, but anywhere else it just seems like a waste of time.

Good luck with currently 515 Critical/Important issue still open for 5.8.0 and 5.9.x release where 126 of them is marked as critical

I've been trying to make 5.8.0 and 5.9.x work for quite some time but I can only recommend everybody to skip it.

5.8.0 is completely useless, too many bugs and important issues like this one https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-59728 here are more important issues (they started with few things, they should change harmless title https://appbus.wordpress.com/2017/03...5-7-0-qt-5-8-0

I've reverted back to 5.7.1 for the time being, which also has many bugs but it is manageable. I still think it is great framework though, but they should just stop development and start fixing bugs, there are too many bugs if you are doing anything serious, you will spend most of your time working around them.

Skip 5.8 and 5.9 for the time being if you plan on doing anything, especially in QML.

As a big fan of KDE and QT, I unfortunately have to agree with jKicker here. QT consistently breaks any ABI stability promises they may have, and expects projects like KDE (which have better things to do) to adapt to the changes. QT breaking KDE's wayland implementation is one example of it.

Keep in mind, KDE is still the only wayland DE that has usable gaming, since Gnome has compositing over xwayland that adds large input lag and stuttering. And now the QT project's "breakage for progress" further stunts KDE's progress.
