If you want the lockups to stop you need to get off dem blobs

I'm on a low-end Kaveri (or Kabini, anyway it's GCN 1.1) APU. I never even tried that horrible monster of AMD blob driver.
I'ts a known issue, since 2010 or so it pops up at random with gnome lockscreen.
I was suspecting it, as I know VERY well Cinnamon.

Sorry, I thought you were using the nvidia driver. Damn near every time I hear about GNOME issues it turns out to be problems with that duvet.

If you want categories you can just install budgie or even something like the attached.

Already done, it's not the same. I wanted something like their touch menu but with apps sorted by category like Smart Launcher (because it's very convenient in my phone).

I am disappoint. If you have more than 10 apps it would be very useful. In my phone I'd have to scroll through 6 pages of stuff if I didn't have Smart Launcher.
