English is such a beautiful rich language - who the hell invented this word, "demerge"? Why can't they say "decouple", "bud off", "unbind", "let loose" or anything like that?

Hopefully as an independent entity, Qt can go down some newer and better path.

All of which would be less clear, considering companies merge to become one; in this case it's splitting so to stock financial people demerging makes most sense and is clearest.

This. And also, according to Collins English Dictionary, demerge is a functioning word. English is indeed such a beautiful rich language.

Not sure it's a good idea to nuke Qt (or indeed any corporate entity) from orbit?

We also have a wonderful tool called 'thesaurus'. When can't remember a word but know one similar you can actually remember, that bad boy get's you past the finish.

Kind of an inside joke kind of musing. In Finnish merger is corporate fusion, not sure if anyone has followed up on the thought to demerger
