Same. I am not a power user and haven't used powerpoint/slides in years so if that sucks I wouldn't know. Docs and sheets are more then I need. I can see if you are using very high end macros and 3rd party templates you need something else, but for me google is just easier. Libreoffice has helped me in the past and I am glad it is still around but it is never really a thing I install unless I have to.

I've just needed a diagram and drew it using Google Docs. So there's that.

Oh wait... they didn't update play store, and the "nightly" build still crashes immediately when you try to open ANY document on ANY device.

WTF is the matter with them? Half the population of the world has Android, and only around 0.0001% desktop Linux, yet their Android effort is less than half-assed. Are they TRYING to fail?

libreoffice runs on windows/macosX/Linux and is used by a lot of corporations . get your facts right

You're feeding an obvious troll. The desktop version serves most if not all current desktop OSes. Even iOS has some half assed cloud version of open office in their markets (which is basically a virtual citrix server + vnc or something similar). Google's office is perfectly ok for viewing documents or lightweight editing. There are lots of odf/doc(x) readers for android. Can't really imagine someone doing hardcore office work with a phone or tablet.

MS has that cornered, while libreoffice will *run* on those, it has no presence. And the linux desktop user market is so small it isn't worth chasing.

Nobody wants to use LibreOffice on a smart phone, though, so that market is tiny as well. You're really targeting people who want an advanced editor on their Android tablets... Which ok, fair enough. But I think you're wrong that that market is ever going to be bigger than what they can grab away from Microsoft on windows. Or at least for now - maybe in a few years people will be wirelessly casting their tablets on to monitors and using bluetooth keyboards and it will really start to grow. But it's not there yet.

well i wouldnt be very sure about that. I have worked in one of the largest IT outsourcing companies and have seen libreoffice being used as the standard office suite of the organisation. Libreoffice doesnt have visibility and they should do something about it

Considering that Google will eventually merge Android and ChromeOS, more work put into Android could pay off by being the only decent full office suit available for Chromebooks (which are popular in education).

Exposing students to alternatives could boost the amount of users that grow up used to LO instead of MSO.

Even on the desktop, I mostly use Google docs/sheet and only revert to LibreOffice when there is something more complicated to do. I'd bet the majority of people can do most of their stuff in Google docs/sheet.
