      I have it running now on kUbuntu 15.10 with the back ports ppa on my test machine. Kwallet is broken, but wiping the current config will probably fix that. Otherwise, there isn't much that is obviously different or improved so far.

        Yup, kwalletd vs walletd5. Go figure. Only kwalletd5 is required after migration. I wiped all kwallet config files and directories I could get my hands on, restarted the login, and after a bit of jiggering around, got kwalletd5 to work nicely. Lots of nice little improvements. Now if you want to reveal the content of a password field, you can click on the "eye" icon on the right, for example.
