Inkscape 0.91 has gone through a code conversion to C++
Inkscape always was written in C++, so this news item has to mean something different. Journalists should find out such things
And the linked inkscape page just says "C++ code conversion" which could also mean that the C++ code was converted to something different, probably just C++11 - but it does NOT automatically mean "conversion TO C++".

That's the spirit Inkscape! Keep growing

This is such a neat program, it'd be nice to see it grow beyond Adobe Flash one day (2.0 perhaps) the first step in that direction would just be animation support, starting with SVG animations, and from there HTML5+SVG animations, and so on and so forth until we get to shockwave flash animations.

You want Synfig for vector animations.

This work was done mainly during Google Summer of Code 2010 and 2011 projects.
I love this software, but it should never take that long to merge features you commissioned someone (incl a Google Code summer student) to build for you, now matter how invasive they are.

Inkscape is the only way to use a vinyl cutter that i have in Linux (Inkscape and two more tricks )

No it wasn't. It was originally C when forked from Sodipodi. It has been in some state of transition ever since.

Blender has started to overtake things like Synfig. Latest version can render to SVG animation.
