    maillinglists

We know how to subscribe to Qt's maillinglists.

You don't have to forward everything to here.

Forwarding does not hurt. Not everyone is on mail list.

I feel sad for Nokia, they are doomed.

Considering the talent, they're probably getting offers already.

I agree that former Qt developers will probably find theirselves on the easier side of the labor market, but I think everyone here would prefer to see some other company buy the whole Qt thing and continue with the current developers. If Nokia regards the Qt team as nothing more than an opportunity to save money, but does not sell Qt to someone with an actual interest in improving it, then the project will slowly die.

Not that it matters much but; since when is Lars Norwegian?
I know his father and he is German at least.

                part of the deal

                Nokia signs deal with Microsoft

                Nokia allows Qt to disintigrate

Microsoft publishes tools and guidelines for porting Qt applications to Windows

                Anyone see the pattern here???

All these years and NOTHING EVER CHANGES

Clearly Qt 5.0 is considered a THREAT to Microsoft

Why else would they extend their resources to snuff it out?

That is the thing, Microsoft is not losing anything whatsoever on this deal. Personally I just think it is a Micorosft scheme to buy an established cell phone company for cheap so they can compete more directly with apple. Qt was just collateral damage.

Indeed, I really do not see Microsoft having any specific interest in QT one way or the other.
