That is the thing, Microsoft is not losing anything whatsoever on this deal. Personally I just think it is a Micorosft scheme to buy an established cell phone company for cheap so they can compete more directly with apple. Qt was just collateral damage.

I find the whole MS+Nokia fiasco to be comical.
MS "buys" Nokia (in a manner of speaking) in order to have Nokia drag them to the top.

I agree that former Qt developers will probably find theirselves on the easier side of the labor market, but I think everyone here would prefer to see some other company buy the whole Qt thing and continue with the current developers. If Nokia regards the Qt team as nothing more than an opportunity to save money, but does not sell Qt to someone with an actual interest in improving it, then the project will slowly die.
