I love this idea, honestly like 5 people use epiphany in the world. At this rate its just doomed to be an inferior competitor to the other browsers. Its nice that theyr doing some radical thinking to try and get something new, innovative and interesting out there.

I don't know if it would be possible to access Mozilla's web storage from third party applications, but otherwise changing between platforms and therefore from Epiphany to Firefox now and then would be a pain (bookmarks and passwords).
2) elaborated AdBlocker

With Flash Player 11, we finally got a 64-bit plugin. Now Im just waiting for GTK3 compatibility so I could use it in Epiphany (sans nspluginwrapper).

And the point of this is? Wasted effort just like Konqueror? No extensions to strip sites of ad crap and confound tracking systems = absolutely useless.

Thanks the dear God that nether Chrome nor Firefox are owned by Gnome.
They can do whatever shit they like with their Epiphany and be the sole users of it.

The only way for Epiphany to go foward is to radically apart from the other browsers as we already have so many of them with Midori being a perfect replacement for those who liked the old-Epiphany. The less-popular browsers have the most freedom to expireiment as they don't have many to disapoint. I think that Gnome is doing overall a good job on this matter. Elementary (and other alternative Gnome apps) used to have very similar desing goals as the offical Gnome apps. Not anymore. Thanks to that we have less dublication of applications and more real choice.Last edited by bwat47; 05 December 2011, 05:08 PM.
