GNOME can't even get video players right, with the new fancy player app delayed to GNOME 49. Not surprising when you remember their Music app still doesn't have a volume control, doesn't support looking anywhere other than ~/Music for files, and also can't play files by double-clicking them in the file manager, so they made a whole separate app written in JavaScript just to do that. Oh and their image viewer app can now edit images... but only in PNG and JPEG format, nothing else. And there's still no annotation tools, making it quite literally the only major platform to not have that functionality out of the box.

But hey, at least GNOME now has iPad-inspired screen time features, because everyone needed that...!

Yeah, I'm sorry the GNOME devs didn't tailor their DE to your whims. You should ask for a refund.

Lol, not even the DE but the list of pre-installed apps. Newsflash! If you don't like an app you can replace it with another! WOW!

Also guys, if you are specifically commenting on a post of a new version of a product that some people are actually excited about using, don't come around just to shit on it, it makes you look pathetic. Just install your preferred software and move on with your life, nobody cares.

If you actually do care, put in the work and log issues with detailed reproduction steps or suggestions for the devs, or even provide an actual meaningful code contribution. and take a moment to realize the word does not revolve around your personal opinion, no matter how much your inner Karen is screaming.

All that time raging on internet forums would be much better spent actually learning how to develop and use a program and actually improve it.

Of course not. The MR is not ready.

3 unresolved review threads remain. Some new failing test cases. Some recent architectural changes (for the better) also requires new testing.

You can't expect any professional project to merge something like this.

If you like Gnome but want it to be more usable, just stick to Ubuntu. You get triple buffering, tray icons, and also a dock. You can also have desktop icons, but I personally consider that a bug, not a feature.

I saw GNOME and immediately thought "No Thanks!"

                    On Bluefin. With tripple buffering.
Only thing I need is a proper image viewer with simple editor. gThumb is meh with its weird navigation.
