royce its main use is for per-user home encryption with their own credentials, with the dir unlocked on connection only (instead of at boot).
It theoretically supports relocking on screen lock, although most desktops don't implement it.

It provides portable and self contained home directories. It also provides some nice things like per user encryption or storing home directories on remote server and getting them with CIFS.

systemd-homed(8) is a systemd service providing portable human-user accounts that are not dependent on current system configuration.
Reality encrypted directory thing is icing on top. The main point of systemd-homed is give Linux something Windows roaming user profiles. Yes homed does not have the server limitation so you can put a homed user account on a USB key and use it in many different computers. Homed deals with the mapping the UID/GID of the homed user into a free uid/gid space.

Did you fix the issue where a prompt asking for the Wi-Fi password appears?
