There is basically no "if", Rockstar already released the first trailer for GTA 6, it's due out next year, it would be very surprising if it wasn't released. Here's the first trailer...

GTK is obsolete, time to port it to Qt.

Not every piece of software requires the use of old and dated piece of tech like GTK, nor the use of overengineered and bloated crap like QT.

But transitioning to one TK to another is always a recipe for disaster, and unless you have lots of time and SANE coders, one always try to avoid the change from one TK to another. Porting from GTK2 to 3 was a nightmare on its own, but at least GIMP devs are about to finish it, and updating to more modern versions should come before Half Life 3.

There's always good examples, e.g. Blender 3D. Its developers don't rely on any crappy TK out there, they did code their own TK/OS layer, so on any machine that supports OpenGL (and in the medium term, Vulcan) their TK is consistent, and "Just Works" for them, on any machine that have a decent OpenGL/Mesa support (Linux machines, RPI3+ cards, PC, macs) and no matter on what OS you are, the looks and visuals are the exact same. Consistency is important for these guys.
