      Maybe consider optimizing/rewriting Plasma first:

The absolute worst DE in terms of RAM consumption on Linux. I can redo the comparison but so far no one has been interested.

So it's not even KDE 6?
You seem to be interested since you're using almost 2 year old measurements of a different major version of KDE running on a different major version of Qt to argue about current KDE.

The amount of RAM used by Plasma is negligible compared to modern browsers or to what's available on a modern PC. I hope Plasma devs work on actual bugs and improvements instead of chasing a few MB reductions in memory usage, often asked by users who then proceed to open 2 or more electron apps plus 70+ browser tabs.

I already had this with EarlyOOM. Will I see duplicates notifications now?

How much are you willing to bet KDE6 has become more frugal now that it's using Qt6?

It's so fucking easy to dismiss someone's work without providing any counter arguments.

"Qt6 is better, case closed", Linux fans strike again.

A counterargument has been provided. That it does not fit your narrative is a "you" problem.

Dear Linux not-fan, would you be so kind as to stop "striking again" yourself, as your presence, flamebaits and incessant plugs of your retŠ°rded website are not appreciated by pretty much any visitor of this forum?

It's not about "Qt6 is better, case closed". Its just almost 2 year old measurementsā€‹ are not revelant for current state.
Problem still can exist, but you don't know it. You need relatively fresh data.

                    You're arguing with something I haven't said.

The counter argument was that you're using KDE 5 benchmarks against KDE 6, not that KDE 6 is better or worse because of a different Qt version. Measure it again using newer versions and you'll find out which way it goes. The work you did with that article is interesting, and a follow up would be interesting as well.

You accuse others of zealotry while not doing any better yourself with this style of discussion.
