My personal opinion is that I hope the GNOME Foundation sticks to their guns and keeps on creating a better and more inclusive social and dev environment for everyone, because it’s a genuinely noble goal worth supporting.

Sadly it won’t come across as this for everyone because one day someone will complain that the Foundation's chairwoman gave their Proud Boys roommate gender dysphoria by seeing a rainbow flag on her LinkedIn but I guess you can’t have everything.

It's also rather hypocritical considering that while software engineering as a field justifies its immediate upwards transfer of wealth by arguing that the automation of boring and tedious labor frees time and energy for beneficial & creative work, game development transfers wealth upwards while CONSUMING time and energy WITHOUT offering any societal benefits.

I mean, just the eye sight and obesity morbidity issues alone likely puts the industry neck and neck with the harms from drug addiction. So, I'm genuinely struggling to see how they could possibly pass as progressive in any shape or form other than theatrics.
