How so? Now he abandons his language Jakt, and wants to use Swift https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41218754

    Indeed.

I mean, you can pretty much do that with an actual browser using window rules: Set to stay below other windows, fix position and dimensions, disable window-decorations, reduce opacity. And if you want rid of the browser's own UI chrome, most have a "kiosk mode" you can launch them in to do that.

Only thing is you may need to use a different browser than your daily driver, as otherwise all its windows may open the same way. There might be a way in the rule matching conditions that you can get around that, e.g. starting that instance with a different commandline.

On a similar thought, it wouldn't surprise me if there's a contrib plasmoid available that just wraps any old window you give it.

I keep telling people that the new Firefox is Brave, that's where the founder of Firefox went and he is doing a bang-up job of making a functioning piece of software. Yeah, the lack of browser diversity sucks, but that isn't Brave's concern, Brave's concern is giving us something tolerable that works, and they've done it.

    That should be doable.

Plasma widgets are using Qt Quick and there is a WebEngine item for Qt Quick.
Items are usually transparent by default (only render their own content)

Unfortunately ladybird (and the larger serenityOS project) milkshake-ducked themselves several months ago.
