As far as I can tell, that's essentially one of the express goals of Servo. I don't think the Servo project themselves are too concerned with being a mainstream browser (at least at the immediate moment, ergo the Verso project existing), but they certainly want to be everywhere else a browser is.

The future looks relatively bright between LadyBird and Verso. Firefox and their shoddy woke CEOs/Management has made supporting the project moot.

It makes me really happy to see that this still hasn't been abandoned. Making an independent web browser (i.e not just a Chrome skin like most of them are nowadays) is a huge undertaking and I'll be honest, I did not have much high hopes when it was announced that Mozilla was abandoning their support and the Linux Foundation were taking it on.

When this is ready... I hope KDE replaces their fork of Chromium with this so I can use a Linux first browser with a Qt UI. Konqueror with webkit was the GOAT back in the day. QtWebEngine (their Chromium fork) is so bad. It's slow as balls and always way behind the latest Chromium version.

I tried Verso and Ladybird and to my surprise Ladybird seems to be a bit better at displaying websites despite having the younger engine.
