Let's get this show on the row. Can't wait for this desktop environment to become stable, I mean, it's basically already usable just not in a daily basis (test case).

Cool logo and font. There are obviously people with good taste in the team.

I know I am going to be called every name in the book but their branding overall is lousy and this new branding is horrible,

They really need to hire a marketing expert or someone that at least understands their target audience,

They clearly try to play off the 1776 angle, why not style their GUI, cases and logo similar to the Bennington 76 flag.

They are having a "COSMIC Freedom Sale", but they are not selling freedom, nor are they giving their systems away for free.

While they are at it, maybe they should consider moving away from Ubuntu as their vase and go with Red Hat; System76 wants to target the lucrative AI segment, partner with a winner like Red Hat, not an also ran like Canonical:

Use Red Hat’s open source platforms to build, deploy, and monitor AI models and applications.

The sale is happening in and around the 4th of July, which is Independence Day in the USA. Freedom as in liberty, not gratis.

I'm excited to use it. Really looking forward to the stability and extensibility a Rust DE provides.

I get that, but at the same time you are calling it COSMIC Freedom Sale, to me it's very confusing branding, and for the record i hate it when care dealerships and other businesses use similar language.

Call it Independence Day sale, or 4th if July sale.

Everything about the way the company does things is so odd, you want to play off the American Revolution angle and want to cash in on Independence Day, but meanwhile the base OS is Ubuntu, which is made by Canonical, which is based in England, started by a South African guy, that uses an African word as the name of the OS they produce.

Do you see the absurdity of having a Freedom Sale to celebrate the 4th of July, by selling a product made by an English company?

Because nothing says American Independence from the British more than buying a computer system made by an English company!!!

Do you see the irony in the business plan?

The Linux kernel was originally written by someone from Finland, and systemd was written by a German, so by your logic, Red Hat wouldn't be American, either.

Fortunately, the factory making Thelio and Launch, where the majority of System76 employees work out of, is physically in Denver, so System76 can safely identify as American.
