Sounds good, but I would like to see Cockpit packaged as a Snap so you can run it on Ubuntu Core which only supports snaps not .deb packages. I would also like to see see Cockpit have a module for managing snaps so you can install and uninstall software remotely using a web interface.
It would be pretty cool if Raspberry let you rent virtual machines that you connect to with Raspberry Pi Connect so that you could use Raspberry Pi Connect even if you didn't own a physical Raspberry Pi computer because you might want a virtual machine for self-hosting stuff (as in installing applications) but you might not want to actually deal with the hosting and connectivity.

convenience
you don't need to run the 10.20.30.40 server yourself and less terminal/networking skills required. there definitely is a target user that appreciates it.

What in the name of Steve Balmer (in lack of stronger words) is this useful for???
What beats ssh 10.20.30.40 -C -L5901:localhost:5901 ? And with tigervncserver installed on the rpi you got all that you need.
