As "foundation", must GNOME not give up on most of its money over the time of a year, as good as possible? Otherwise they would lose the foundation status, wouldn't they? So as long as they have those massive reserves they must spend it. I cant see a real problem here.

A mod on the gnome reddit sub pinned their comment saying any criticism of the executive director/shaman/girlboss will be deleted (and i am assuming the user will be banned) 不不不

It's not good on touch screens, at all. On keyboard and mouse it's pretty good but some design choices are there that knowingly hurt the user experience and force people to use extensions (AppIndicators, broken Blur etc)
So it's neither good for touch nor for desktop use. Wonder why some are criticizing its usability and we see these financial figures

GNOME Foundation are a bunch of scammers and they know it. They avoid any criticism and are extremely defensive.

I dont give a fsck if the chairman is a man, girl, intersexual, transgender, extraterrestrial, asexual or whatever. It's just a professional scammer, that's what it matters.

They ask for money just for themselves, to waste is on crap and deep their pockets. Just like tons of nonprofit organizations, unfortunately. Why pay for more developers? They just are a propaganda machine.

I'm not familiar with American law, but it sounds wrong, how would you be able to plan for the future if you can't have cash reserves?

Spending more than you have is certainly a problem, especially if you depend on donations and can't be sure to get enough next year.

I mean, are they wrong to do so? It's going to be the main pisstake every time gnome is mentioned for the next few years and is already tiresome. If I had to guess her hiring is pure nepotism or the like, I mean she could be a really good speaker but if she was we'd have heard of her before this.

A few more overlays would go a long way, like a border around your broadcast window. I felt that it was really disingenuous of you to talk about how bad various environments were when you didn't have all the dependencies installed or because programs weren't configured; like how Dolphin looked and PDFs not loading right. It's like testing a car, saying it has bad performance, and then saying but I only put 14lbs of pressure in the tires and didn't install the air filter.

While kudos of you for pointing that the dependencies weren't installed, it still doesn't seem fair to GNOME or KDE to review them in a partially installed state....or, and while I doubt these folks exist, the users who haven't seen what you're reviewing to imagine how it should look.

I'm just rambling on here because I thought this was funny: I wish our accents weren't so different from one another so your videos would be easier for me to watch. Please don't take that in a negative manner. I have a southern drawl and I tend to speak fast so I end up repeating everything I say upwards of three or four times to my family but not the public at large. It's infuriating.

For that to make sense, all of my family are west coast, California, transplants to the south while I've lived here since I was 3 so I don't know anything else. Basically, the rest of my family speaks in US Broadcast dialect where I sound like a character from King of the Hill, I tell ya what. The older generation speaks the common US dialect and the younger one in southern dialects.

Listening to you talk made me ponder, "Is this what my family has to deal with when I talk?" Like, I think you were saying "MicroOS" or "Microsoft" a few times in there in the beginning. I know you said Microsoft once or twice, but the other six or so times I think it was MicroOS.

I speak in redneck and I type in a mix of that and valley girl. Like, you know, that boy ain't right.
You speak redneck and I do redneck engineering ;-) I poured over 100 hours the last weeks into getting KDE working like that at all. One should think installing 200 packages and dependencies should give you a fulling working DE, ... https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2135242702
