the second link has highly questionable wording (biased agenda techniques to impose an idea to the reader), with an emphasis that seems wrong from the start (that the foundation must be about linux rather than the expanded ecosystem of everything that runs on or is connected to software/devices that run linux, but it probably needs to be renamed to the 'open foundation' sure)

Servo was never used directly in Firefox.

Parts of Servo (like Stylo, the CSS engine) got copied into Firefox years ago and is still used today. But that code lives as part of Firefox now, it's not a separate outside library.

          yeah, i knew about that!
Still, (as far as we know) while being founded by big tech it didn't went the same path as the big tech did (the snowden backdoors scandal, for example) so it's worth a lot more trust IYAM. If we can't relay on some kind of foundation (e.g.: LF, Mozilla) that has "the man-power" to do it i guess we're screwed because "the little guy" (small, independent and truly friendly) will never get any traction.

See Signal foundation, for example... it has some users, yes, but most just use whatsapp and telegram s*it... let's not even talk about Jami and others...
You may have the greatest tech on earth... but if you're not big tech it's will be really hard to get to people these days. That's how it rolls

edit: About the articles: very interesting readings indeed - i never read those before!!!
