Compare a simple mouse click on system tray icon and "gdbus call --system --dest net.hadess.PowerProfiles --object-path /net/hadess/PowerProfiles --method org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties.Set 'net.hadess.PowerProfiles' 'ActiveProfile' "<'performance'>"

Why would anyone use the latter though? The profile can be changed in the quick settings menu at the right edge of the top bar. (Maybe not in older versions of GNOME, but before it could already be changed in the settings app)

Just an example. Before it was a thing in GUI, it existed only as such long and awkward command.
