Really looking forward to 2033... when all this duplication of chaos around wayland has finally ended and there is one reference implementation of some sort that can be used by everyone...

I mean the same thing happened with X... but that was back in the 80's or probably before half the people on this forum had a computer or new what they were.

The Budgie developers already stated Budgie 11 will support Wayland.

There was no GNOME and mobile anti-desktop bullshit back then though. And that sorry excuse of a thing is what's the "leading" Wayland implementation.

That's not the only problem of course. The other problem is Wayland is crippled by design (the protocol) because of stubborn and paranoid idiots.

Can't they just contribute to KDE Plasma or Gnome annd stop wasting resources ad time and all these desktop environments that don't even have 70% of the features that KDE Plasma and Gnome have?

Can't GNOME and KDE just get hired by Microsoft and stop wasting resources and time?
