Those would not be popular and probably not installed on your system either. So the install size would be nearly identical.
Sure, if you completely ignore the whole overhead of stuff like the runtime (that can be installed in multiple versions) and depending on the flatpak various other stuff like org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default, org.gnome.Platform.Compat.i386 or org.gnome.Platform.Locale, and sometimes even their KDE counterparts. They all package stuff that's most likely already installed on your system. That's what was meant by large amount of duplication. Sure, those effects might decrease relatively the more flatpaks you use, but in the end there will always be a huge overhead because any dependency exists at least twice on the system (one native version, one inside Flatpak), most likely even more often if you need dependencies in different versions for different flatpaks

I love libreoffice. But this kind of things... you see, an icon with 3 2px width lines is better than 6 1px width lines. Like please, don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. Make it simple, as long as it conveys the meaning, and distinct enough with other icons.
Then pick another icon set, you numbnut. There are several available.

Those don't look better. At least not the ones preinstalled or available for download via that little plugin icon. In fact, most of them are much worse because they aren't optimized for dark backgrounds. If you have any recommendation, do tell.

Don't be selfish, think of people who don't pay attention to this, which is most people. They have bad ux, most don't have a reason to stick around. They pick other software because it feels right.

I don't use a dark theme and my icon set of choice is Yaru.

Yes, most ppl don't give a shit and they don't pick another software because the icon set has "thin lines".

Well that's probably the point. On a white/light background they aren't as problematic. Even though I prefer Colibre there too. But since this is bringing native dark mode to all platforms (and not just their grey-ish top bar), their look on a really dark background needs to be considered too. That's where pretty much all of them fall flat right now.

Nope, they are still working on integrating the one from Firefox. But it doesn't seem to be their highest priority to fix what MS has taken decades to address.
