  • Notes on configuring a ZFS LTSP server

Today I uploaded my extensive notes on setting up LTSP to take advantage of ZFS. Doing so enables each user to recover old versions of files or deleted files themselves from snapshots and search for file revisions using findoid. You also get to take advantage of various other ZFS features that help keep your data safe that aren't present in other Linux filesystems.

Other topics covered in these notes include configuring SSH to use google-authenticator for 2FA, setting up LDAP + PAM, configuring sanoid to take and replicate snapshots, configuring LightDM, fixing/working round notable issues in Ubuntu 20.04 and more.
