Phoronix: KDE Activity Lower This Week As Impact From The Russia-Ukraine War

Unfortunately this week the KDE project saw "overall activity was lower than usual" that in part at least seems to be fallout from the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Sadly some Ukranian KDE contributors have been impacted by the ongoing situation and some KDE Russia contributors have also been impacted by their Internet restrictions...

You can't seriously be this dense. He's simply reporting what Nate says in the linked article.

What can you do if this topic now touches almost every corner of life?

Well, you're doing your part opening that discussion. Maybe you should raise your trigger level a bit higher if you felt that was a call for a war discussion.

"War is merely the continuation of politics by other means."

Ukraine wanting to join NATO is the cause of the war, and NATO is in no way neutral in this conflict. NATO countries actively support Ukraine, even though no NATO soldiers are physically present in Ukraine.

Anyway, the problem is not the news itself, but the reactions of people in the forum.

Yeah if NATO was involved in Ukraine we would either be in WW3 or Russia would have catastrophically lost by now

Correction, Ukraine wanting to join NATO is the the trigger of the war and that is an assumption since no one can read Putin's mind and he is the one commanding everything.

Thats like saying the assassination of Franz Ferdinand was the cause of WW1 (it wasn't, it was the trigger).

The cause of war is the russian fascism (ruscism). NATO is just a pretext for kremlin maniacs.

Putin's official reason for war is not just NATO, it is also "Russians genocide" in Ukraine and Nazis. It is not hard to understand that Ukraine joining the West (NATO) is the real reason of the war (the "genocide" is a very strong exaggeration of the, real, anti-russian policy in Ukraine and Nazis are present in Russia too, even though less powerful than in Ukraine). Putin does not want to lose influence in Eastern Europe, no need to search for some hidden reason. Well, Putin likely also thinks that wining a(n easy) war is a way to increase his popularity in his country. Influence war and popularity in one's own country, most wars are done for these reasons, this one is not different.
