I haven't done any gradient testing with HDR, but I guess result won't be different to SDR and work fine with proper dithering and 8 bit.

We need the Wayland color management protol though. Badly. I prefer using Windows to watch videos on my notebook due to this...

It would be nice if Valve would give a hand to Red Hat developers on the HDR side!
Maybe that could be solved if both companies work together.
Too bad AMD doesn't seem to help at all in this area, every though they have experience with it, at least from the Windows driver.

LOL, birdie again, people. Complains about Plasma being late to support it, meanwhile complains that not even all apps properly support it. So exactly how late is Plasma if there are still apps, even big name apps, that don't support it?

The amount of HDR issues on Windows is countless. Microsoft recently fixed a major flaw in HDR support on Windows that even most media covered, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Wayland may be late to the party, but being early like Windows and then half-assing it isn't great either.

So, in Windows literally everything works with HDR aside from rare bugs which are fixed in a timely manner, in Linux pretty much nothing works or even implemented yet and somehow Windows is "half-assed"? OMG, Vistaus, you're embarrassing yourself only you don't see it at all. What a way to spin facts, you must go work as a spin doctor.

BTW, do you even have Windows installed? Do you have an HDR monitor? How the hell do you know?

Well, let me tell you a secret, I have Windows 10 and I have a 10bit monitor which supports HDR and it all works beautifully.

Again, here in Linux something is outright broken, but let me crap on Windows because "I've heard something", so ... "The amount of HDR issues on Windows is countless". Oh, God. BTW, are you following me? So eager to comment on everything I say and crap on me. Do you do anything useful outside of that, amigo?

Just today I've filed a bug against Firefox in Linux because it has a huge issue with contrast. For you, my poor friend, so that you could have fewer issues using it. What have you done for Open Source in the past five years?

Yes, I have an HDR monitor, so my post was based on experience.

You mean besides adding Dutch translations to over a 1000 (over the past 5 years) small and big FOSS projects, which I all maintain as well, while also still adding new translations to FOSS projects almost every week, various code contributions to smaller FOSS projects, numerous bug reports mostly to smaller FOSS projects, various donations even though I'm poor myself, helping out with marketing of some FOSS projects and helping out at FOSS events?

But thank *you* for filing one bug report for a browser I don't even use on a regular basis.

Kde Plasma use now less cpu resources than just an year ago (in fact, everything I did a lot of cpu cycles was generated by plasma-shell).
My disappoint is for what reason after I enable the calendar events in the clock the ram used grows of about 300 mb? I know it is for Akonady, but the ics file is just a plain text file.

I have a question: why qtquick is preferred over a compiled language (c++ in this case)?

You said countless bugs, OK? I want to hear about at least ten for a start or you may as well become a buffoon. Translations are nice, kudos to you. Lying about Windows is not OK.

I guess I won't get more than two at most and we may all disperse and realize you were simply lying through your teeth.

I didn't lie about Windows as I, again, have experience.

                    I said numerous, not countless.
